While repairing a boiler for a neighbor, my neighbor told me to turn up a thermostat behind the organ, upon returning to the basement, he told me if I knew anyone that wanted the organ,,, it was theirs!!!
The next day I backed up my truck and became the owner of an old inoperable Hammond organ,,, but there in was the challenge. Much time on the internet and hours and hours with the back off, some hand wringing,,,, and I had a playable organ.
While exploring repair options for the Hammond,,, I stumbled across some pages on building organ pipes… For my own education I have built a few pipes,,, I can see another project down the road.
My latest conquest has been an old Pump Organ…
Having gone through nearly every square inch,,, this one is now a joy to play….
